There’s a sweetness to Kelly and Jay that made capturing the two of them on their wedding day a breeze. Some couples just have that magnetic chemistry with one another that makes your job so easy. I remember thinking all day “these are two people who are excited to be getting married to one another.” I’m lucky to say that’s always the case with my couples, but with Kelly and Jay, that excitement was bubbling over and infecting everyone around them.
As sometimes happens, it rained on Kelly and Jay’s wedding day. This wasn’t a little summer drizzle. It rained with fury and dinner conversation was conducted over the sounds of the rain beating down on the tent at the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House. I never once heard Kelly or Jay express any discontent that it was raining. The rain didn’t matter. After the storm cleared, they walked together to the shore of Lake Saint Clair at the back of the property and took in what was easily the best sunset I saw this summer. For that moment, it was quiet, and they were there, together, after the storm.
The day was so glorious we hardly noticed the rain during dinner, then the beautiful sunset set off by a few meandering clouds blessed K&J on their journey. The pictures capture the love these two have for each other, that forever kind of love that makes every day truly blessed.
Beautiful Pictures! Did this wedding take place on the grounds of the Ford House? My fiance and I looked at this venue.
Hi Michael! The ceremony took place at the Grosse Point Academy and the reception was held on the back lawn of the Ford House. It was really breathtaking.
