So I’ve been a bit busy and when I get busy I tend to get a bit neglectful or my blogging, and by a bit I mean entirely. I’m so behind on blogging that this wedding is from 14 months ago. Don’t judge me.
Normally I would tell you a little story about something that happened on the wedding day but it was 14 months ago so I basically don’t remember much other than the fact that Emily and Jake were completely lovely to work with and that I had a great time and that at the end of it Emily gave me a gardening tool that I still use to this day. Will just say this, they held their wedding at the Ford Piquette Plant which is basically one of the best little spots for Detroit history in the city. Being there is like walking back in time to when this city was first making a name for itself. You get to see the origins of the Motor City, and that’s pretty great. I’d say it’s the most quewntisentially Detroit wedding venue out there.
So, since I can’t remember much from the actual day (except for, once again, how useful that gardening tool has been), I’ll tell you some things that have happened in the intervening 14 months. We remodeled out bathroom and I love it. I’m co-organizing a photography conference called The Midwest Gathering right here in Detroit. Also, I was named one of the top wedding photographers in the country (and one of only a few named from the Midwest) by Bride’s Magazine. I’m really bad at talking about my own accomplishments but my Aunt yelled at me and told me I should be telling more people about the fact that I was chosen and so here I am making a humble attempt at promoting myself.
So that’s a brief update of the last 14 months. I’d say on the day to day, I’m most grateful for the new bathroom.
